It's a personal preference. It's more difficult to play Tempest with a trackball because the spinner mimmicks your 'ship' rotating around. With a trackball you would be moving it left and right instead of clockwise/counterclockwise which would take getting used to. I'm a fanatic though, and I prefer even using a roller controller for Major Havoc instead of a trackball or spinner...I am working on a cabinet that will have all 3 types of controlls...as I said, I am a fanatic...

: My current control panel plans include a trackball and I'm debating whether or not to include a spinner. Does a trackball work as a good substitute for the games that require a spinner?
