: : : : Boy I hope you get this... Your website has no e-mail address. I have a question in regards to the T-molding installation. I have heard from other message boards that in order to install T-molding you will need a 1/16" slot cutting bit. However, I don't know how in the heck I'm going to keep the router straight when cutting straight up the 3/4" plywood! I have yet to buy a router, and don't really want to for a one time job, but I guess I will cause I really want to get this cab up and running! What kind of brace did you use to hold the router in place to cut a straight line? Incidentally, my MAME cab design comes right off your blueprints - excellent design! I've got the wood cut, and now I'm at the T-molding installation part. Your help or comments are greatly appreciated. I hope it's okay to contact you in the future if other questions come up, cause I know they will. (I'm a total newbie, obviously!) Thanks in advance!

: : : You are cutting the slots before assembling right? It should be easy to make the slots with the panels laying flat on your workbench.

: : No I think I know that he is asking. Not how to put slots in for the cabinet to fit together, but how to make slots along all visible edges (once construction is done) in put the ruber T-Molding on them to prevent chipping, and to give a nice finished look.... I have no idea, as I have not done mine yet, but I know what he is looking for, and I would be interested in hearing too....

: He was talking about the t-molding slots. You cut them before assembly! Cutting the slots for t-molding may be possible on a finished cab, but it would be MUCH easier to do BEFORE you put the cabinet together.

Amen. Much easier. Acually I did mine when the thing was practically finished. already assembled & running. I could wait to borrow a router =) But when we put Genom's together we routed everything while it was still on the workbench & it was a piece of cake. You have to do it freehand, BTW. Practice on some scrap first, hold on tight before you turn it on & If the cab is already assembled, be very carefull not to hit any nails or screws. If you lose control of the router, well, hope you have good health insurance.

The thing makes a huge mess too. All part of the fun.

You can email me at lusid@mad.scientist.com or just post to the board. Like Genom said, I'm still in the process of moving, so I may be slow to respond. Send me pictures when you get it together. I love getting pics from people who used those plans.
