ArcadeOS / Callus / Arcade Cab woes

I have ArcadeOS running on my big tv just fine (thru a VGA to SCART cable that I cobbled together). I thought it would be useful to get something working to build up my confidence before I go messing around inside a real cab.

MAME games are fine, although some resolutions cause a few lines to be chopped here and there I believe a little tweaking with Advance MAME should cure this.

My problem is with Callus, the games run ok but there is no picture (its blacked out) for the first third or so of the screen. Apart from this the game appears to be centered correctly.

I'm using the 384x224 resolution. Any ideas ?
