: I have built an arcade panel using Sidewinders in the past, and are familiar with them. Therefore, I would like to use them again in my cabinet. I don't want to go through the hassles of a keyboard hack. This Powerramp thing sounds interesting, but don't really know much about it. Can you list advantages and disadvantages? Thanks

I thought of using these once but before I hacked one I gave it a little test.....When I test my controllers that use the Hagstrom KE24 I program the buttons and boot up Notepad. Then I test each button and so on....now with the KE24 I could press the buttons as fast as I could and Notepad would keep up perfectly. When I tried this with a Sidewinder the inputs were not even close....I probably had more presses that didnt respond than ones that did. It's been awhile but I seem to also remember trying Robotron with a SW and if I was holding for example a direction button in and I tried to press a fire button while I was moving it would not respond. I never really looked into it any further so perhaps I could have had something wrong in the MAME settings (but I dont think so)....Anyway, that was my brief experience with the Sidewinder. Anyone else ever experience this?
