As far as the switch goes, what I did for something similar was use a switchbox for a printer. It has 25 pins for input and output. Solder the 1 out to whatever plugs into the PC and solder the controllers to the inputs. Works like a champ...

: I have mame working with the original arcade controls. I also have Nes, TG-16, Genesis, SNES, Atari, Colecovision, and SMS emulators running through ArcadeOS. What I want to do is make this puppy the ultimate game machine. I want to be able to use all the real controllers for the systems for games that call for a gamepad like rpg's. I'd like some brainstorming from you all about how the best way to hook up all those original controllers to a pc. I've seen documentation about some controllers but could we make a comprehensive list here on how to hack each controller. I'm sure they are all possible. I know psx has been done before and all the controllers i need have far less input. Is there an adapter that allows for several joysticks to be hooked to it and then selected by a switch or something? I'm sure there is. Link? Any help would be awesome. I really just want one controller per system. I'll store them in the coin door.
