Thanks for the example. Did you do this manually for each of your 4-way controlled games? I wish MAME set a flag for 4-way/8-way controlled games so you could set a default key config for both. For example, for the two player games where the players take turns, it would make sense to configure both players for the second controller, because that joystick is closer to the center of the control panel. As it stands, one would have to manually configure this for all the games that apply.
