In Reply to: Works on my Voodoo Banshee a treat, correct refresh rates (exact aspect ratios and high colour) forget Advance MAME this is for people with Arcade monitors. [more] posted by Andy Geez on 31, 2000 at 8:00 AM:

: Only problem with Voodoo driver is the lack of interlace support (all over supported cards have this function), this isn't down to VsyncMAME but more a lack of a feature on the Voodoo board itself (can't believe 3DFX left interlace mode out), so I couldn't get vector games to look right, however IMO vector games look dreadful on an Arcade monitor anyways.

: Medium Res support means I can run 99% of rotated games without a new for a rotating monitor at without compressing the picture, and off course 720, Paperboy, C Sprint, Narc and that all looked great in there native medium resolution..

: Speed is great too, because they are running in VESA modes at there correct aspect ratio, it means MAME doesn't have todo stretch or scanlines (saving on CPU speed) and as you know VESA linear framebuffer modes are the quickest out there and can run with high colour support required by more modern games.

: So if you've got a G400, Sis6326, Cirrus, certian S3 cards, Voodoo Banshe/3 then get this Gem..

: I can't praise it highly enough, its made my Voodoo Banshee useful again!! woohoo..
