Just make sure its a 15khz monitor, 24khz monitors are not too well support at present, ideally its best to get a cabinet with 15/24khz monitor inside, but these cost a fair bit more cash.
The specified resolution of a 15khz monitor is 336x240, however games use all sorts of resolutions.
