Please no diode debate again. I also have a keyboard hack that works perfectly, but I don't want to get into that debate again. As far as multiple keys pressed at once, I pretty sure that it depends on the keyboard itself. Diodes control ghisting problems, but masking is what you are asking about. The number of keys registered at once is dependent on the keybaord IC itself. For example on my KB hack I can play any game with up to 6 buttons per player, but on my laptop the keyoard won't read enough buttons at once. My old laptop worked fine, so I assume this is a limitations of the kb in the laptop. Hope it helps

: : Honestly, go spend $49 on the IPAC
: : I have used a keyboard hack, a powerramp hack, and both worked *ok* but this is one area of the project that I think people try and save money and they are unhappy with the results.
: : just my opinion

: That is probably the best advice...but I am one of the lucky ones who have a working keyboard hack. I tested ghosting and all that when I wired mine up. Not a single problem. I think I could get 7 or 8 buttons to register at once in those tests.
: I can look up the specifics on the keyboard I hacked if anyone is interested. I didn't use any fancy mapping, just looked for RIGHT CONTROL, etc. and used it. Then I added diodes.
: How 'bout we start up the diodes debate again. Haha.
