--sorry - should have clarified... you can see the residual outline where the chip was, and my buddy says that it looks like the solder joints are broken as if the chip had been ripped out.

: You might try posting on r.g.v.a.c. again, and tell them to send it to your email (add it to the bottom of your post) or reply on the group because of Remarq's spam munge. If you get any trouble, tell me and I'll give them a peice of my mind...

--I sent the guy an email about it and posted to the group. i'm going to put my email address in a sig file to put on my messages so that won't be the case anymore. (seriously the guy was like "i was going to help you but BITE ME" or some such)
