Tom's comment on the flywheel is correct. The flywheel is epoxied to a collar. I have tried a few different expoxy combo's - I believe the one Tom has is using a 1 part epoxy (like superglue). I found that the 2-part exoxy's work MUCH better, which is what I am using now.

: After getting inspiration from this site, I decided to retire my V-Stick and build my own controller. It features two Wico sticks, many, many Happ buttons, a trackball, a Fultra spinner and a Hagstrom KE72-T encoder.

: I had the hardest time with the woodworking aspect of the project but I'm fairly happy with the outcome. It's not perfect but it will do.

: I'm thoroughly enjoying the trackball and Fultra spinner. The spinner is slightly larger (deep) than I thought and that forced me to redesign my control panel. I originally had a sloped surface that started off at 3 inches at the top and ended at 1 1/2 inches at the bottom. This design was going to be extremely tight without the spinner but was impossible with the spinner. I'm not blaming Chris for the dimensions, I just didn't pay that much attention to the dimensions, I just didn't realize it was so big. Chris was very good to work with and he sent me out a replacement knob after informing him that mine was received scratched. His installation instructions were very professional. I am happy with the unit. I did run into a snare however. When I cut the shaft, the flywheel came loose from the shaft. It appears to have been secured with some sort of glue or epoxy. I used krazy glue to reattach it and so far it is holding just fine. I don't think there's that much force on the flywheel under normal useage. I guess the vibration from the hacksaw was too much for my unit at least. I still recommend the unit.

: If I stop playing games long enough, I will put together a small website for my panel but for now I will post the following links for two pictures of my unit.
