\: Nice job. I'm going to be building a control panel also with the Happ trackball, Fultra Spinner and KE72T.

: A few newbie encoder questions:
: How did you wire both the trackball and spinner to the encoder, do you use a switch? I'm also wondering, when the trackball is connected to the encoder what happens to the mouse, does the trackball take the place of the mouse?

Yes, I used a DPDT switch that I picked up at Rat Shack. I only switched the +5V and ground wires and it works fine. I have the switch under the front lip of my control panel and it can be switched on the fly.

The trackball is connected to the PS/2 port and my mouse is now connected to the com1 port. I was worried that I would have to fight with win98 to get it to see both "mice". All I did was move the mouse to the com1 port and reboot. No drivers had to be installed and all 3 mouse buttons worked on the mouse as well as the trackball. It was actually a bit too easy.

Good luck with your project.
