Considering it used Hall-Effect joysticks, I don't think it rotated like Heavy Barrel. I think the meantion in KLOV about being able to rotate in any direction means that you can reaim the player in any direction, unlike most games that only aim the player in 45 degree increments. The joysticks in the picture do not appear to be the rotatable kind.

Now if I could only figure out why Cabal in Mame is joystick based and not trackball... The joystick version of the game uses a "joystick encoder" to make joysticks output trackball compatable.
