Wiring Wico leaf switch joystick

Hi,

I'm almost ready to wire up my Wico joystick. I've never done this before and I'm not quite sure how to wire it properly. Each leaf switch has only two leads. I've noticed on the examples page that you need to wire all the common leads of the joystick and button switches together to the ground on the encoder. Is this the case with the leaf switch joystick? I'm just wiring one joystick and two buttons to an I-PAC board. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
