From what I have seen it depends on the monitor...
The monitor must be able to support lower resolutions to handle full screen. Otherwise, it will stay in higher resolution and use 320x240 pixels in the center etc.
Some sun/sgi monitors are multi-sync and work the same as a pc monitor.
: I've used them plenty on Sun and SiliG workstations, but how well do they work with PCs? Can they be used with MAME? If anyone has any experience with using MAME on these kind of monitors, I'd sure appreciate a few words on that.
