I've just thought of a killer idea that I don't believe has ever been done before. I realize that the whole idea of all of this is for an arcade feel and this may take away a little of the true feel but it's just an idea.
What got me thinking was.... I've got all my stuff wired up right now and it is connected to this pc externally. Right beside me now is my computer tower and beside that is the machine. The cables are running from the back of the machine (no door) to the pc right next to it on the floor. SO... if I stand at the cab with my pc on I could play any pc game using my control panel, by just mapping the controls in that game to the same ones mame uses. All I'd have to do is look at the monitor on the desk. The monitor in my arcade is real, and it is pc2jamma.
My idea....
Have two video cards in the pc and hook two pc monitors up to them when not playing the arcade. Mount one monitor (14" would be really cheap) on each side of the cabinet. Then, I could play computer games against another player using the arcade controls and each player would have a monitor on his side. This is a lot like just having a single pc monitor in your arcade except now there would be a total of three monitors. I just thought that I'd throw that out there. Another one of my crazy ideas. : )
