I actually had one of these, and unfortunately was not able to get it to work with mame (or dos for that matter) at all. That monitor only supports resolutions of 1024x1024 and 1280x1024. Nothing larger, nothing smaller. I even tried fooling with the internal controls for horizontal frequency, and couldn't get it to work. I ended up throwing it out.
