Caving in to the HotRod SE

After almost a year of not getting around to building a two stick panel, I've decided
to forego (sp?) the sweat and tears of assembling another joystick. It would have
been essentially be the same as the HotRod but without that awesome looking case.
I have caved in due to laziness and a great HotRod design... but the thing that
really put me over the top was all the great reviews that have been coming in this
week!

I have a question: Has anyone here bought a HotRod or other commercial stick and
also built thier own joystick? Was the HotRod better than anything you feel you
could have done on your own?
