To me the right side is more comfortable than if it were on the left side. But this brings up a important step in arcade cabinet building. Always make a mock up of your control panel before you actually cut into your wood or plexiglass. Take the time to cut out some cardboard or posterboard the size of your panel. Then cut out all the holes for the buttons, joys, trackball, etc. You can even put them into the cardboard to see how they "feel". Most people place their buttons on 2" centers from each other. While that maybe comfortable to most, that was too far apart for me. I have small hands (I guess) and having the buttons on 1 1/2" centers make them alot more in place for me. So always make several designs and make "temp" panels before making the final panel. Last thing you want is for the cabinet to be finished then unhappy with the "feel" of it. Good luck and Game On!!!

: hey all - just curious about different aspects of these games, please let me know your experience.

: 1. playing Tron, in the actual arcade machine, isn't it odd and/or awkward having the joystick in the right hand? considering most games have it on the left or in the middle...

: 2. Gorf - emulator people should be able to answer this one. i can't remember, but does your ship only have the ability to have ONE shot onscreen at any given time? (i was reading about you can cancel a shot by firing again, but i dont remember having to wait to shoot next?)

: 3. Star Wars. are there any other similar games that use the same yoke and triggers? could you pull off Spy Hunter, Roadblasters, STUN runner with it? If i build a MAME cabinet after my NES cabinet, i'll probably stick with one set of controls for it.

: cheers!
