It hadn't occurred to me that I could map the diagonals on the powerramp, I thought that MAME read both UP+RIGHT together and transleted it to diagonal. I will give it a try.

: What you describe would work on a keyboard, but not on a PowerRamp, since it's a form of encoder and has no ghosting/masking problems, even if you map the directions to keys that don't work together on your keyboard.

: However, you can achieve what you want by mapping the diagonals to an unused key in Mame(If you're in pure dos, map it to a Windows key, not sure which regular keys aren't used), so when you press the joystick diagonally it sends a key which does nothing. It won't work as well as you might think, try it for yourself.
