: I believe that the old NES Advantage joysticks just used LEDs for the indicators. Therefore, you would have to have a button that used an LED as a light, and I don't think those are very easy to come by anymore. The old Atari start buttons (Asteroids, etc) were LED I believe, but I don't think you'll find those anymore either. Your best bet is to use standard buttons and just mount an LED near each one as the indicator. Just run the LED leads to the LED on the controller, and you should be fine. Just make sure you get the positive and negative legs to the correct side, or it won't light...

: : Also - in converting my controls to arcade controls, i'm going to need smaller buttons that *latch* and *light up when latched* in order to turn on and off the turbo's for A and B, and the Slow function. I have already found that Happ does not carry this, and have tried in vain to search a couple other parts sites. Help!

IIRC, Happ Controls sells a kit to convert their normal light-up buttons to use an LED. Take a look at http://www.happcontrols.com/amusement/pushbutts/pushbuttons.htm. There is a drop-in-replacement LED available for some of their light-up pushbuttons. I can't say how well they work, but they do seem to be available...
