console light gun games on a VGA monitor

Does anybody here know of a scan-converter that will allow console light guns (i.e. 3DO, Saturn, Playstation) to work correctly with a VGA monitor? I tried using my JAM!! box with not too favorable results. The games look fine on the monitor, but the guns don't shoot accurate enough to play. I'm curious if anyone here has been successful doing this.
