: : No I haven't used the LM1881. I do have one, but I don't think it's nesessary because it syncs in the first place. If it hadn't synced in the first place, I would agreed on that one. I've got a couple of other Hantarex monitors, and I don't need the syncseparator there. If you or anyone else think it's a good idea to use the LM1881 please let me know. PS, nice if you can give me a little explaination aswell.
: : Yes, I've tweaked myself to death... ;) with H and V hold, with same result. Good the first min or two, then...out of sync.
: : : are you using a LM1881 to strip sync out of the composite video from the PSX? Have you tried the knobs on the back of the monitor, most monitors have a sync knob.

: : : : I've go myself a "new" WG, actually it's 10 years old. Anyway, I can't manage to sync the picture from psx. Actully it does sync for about a min or two, then it starts to get black in the middle of the screen, and after another min, the picture is completly out of sync. The connector at the monitor has +H -H +V -V. The monitor was earlier connected to a jamma with both -V -h tied together. I've tried with both -V and -H but with same result. Also tried several "make no sense" connections, no good. Suggestions anyone, or is it broken ?

:
: I wrestled with this problem for over 6 months, I would get it just about right pbut after a while the screen would get dark or jittery. I ended up with a lm1881 circuit that HAD! to powered from the psx. You can get +5 from the av connector.
: I did this and it looks great. I've got a PSX cab made from a 25" Ghostbusters with 3 joysticks with 10 buttons each.

: (When I started that project the psx was still pretty much unknown as to rgb outs and such.)

: Also, if you don't want to tweak your monitor's brightness up you need to add some caps to the rgb lines. It's levels are slightly below standard.

: Later,
: dabone
