: sorry I'm new to this building stuff I just want to know what kind of multi Meter should I buy to test the wires of a joystick

: thanks

The best recommendation I can make is get a cheap one that just does Ohms, Volts, and Amps, but most importantly can be set to beep when you have a closed circuit. This way you won't have to look at the meter when you are testing solder joints and such. I'd think you would want somthing a little more than a simple circuit tester (that's why I said the amp and voltage stuff too) because they come in handy around the house at the wierdest time. I've personally got a cheesey $30 Radio Shack multimeter I got for Christmas a few years back but it works real well.
