okay, here's my big question, pardon its length.
i want to get NES fun into a cabinet!
okay, so i have to choose, the 8-bit wonderbox or an emulated facsimile thereof...?

what's everybody think? I have NESticle on my puter and with several game ROMs it works well... but if I choose to build an emu-cabinet i want to have turbo-fire buttons and slow mo like an NES Advantage joystick. and then i'd have to buy a puter to put in the cabinet and then..... yipes.

my original idea is to take my NES and an old 19" TV that i dont use, hook a couple of Advantage sticks to the NES and build a cab around the whole shebang. whammo, no money spent! but with the Advantage you're dealing with a false feeling of arcade coolness. Anybody out there build arcade control panels that interface with the console's actual hardware instead of
the PC? i'd need a panel with 2x 8-way, 2x 'b' button, 2x 'a' button, 4x toggle switches for turbo-a and turbo-b (turbo, not auto), select, start, and a switch for slow-mo, which is rapid and automatic triggering of start.
i'm thinking select, start and slow could just be wired into the 1st player controls.

any help you could possibly offer would be vastly appreciated.
thanks very much for your time
dave dixon
