It took me a couple of hours to get my pole position controller converted to a mouse. I'm working on a website, I need to develop the pictures to better show what I did. Basicaly I used the belt drive from a tape player and attached the pulleys from the player to the mouse axle and the encoder wheel. It worked a lot better than I expected. Using a belt you don't have to worry about having everything lined up perfect. The driving games work great and tempest is better with a steering wheel than it is with a spinner.

: I'd love a 360 wheel, I remember using those for games like Super Sprint, just spinning the wheel and flying around the corrners, but I still haven't found a good site to help me build one with ease.

: : I would agree with an earlier post that if it doesn't rotate 360 degrees most racing games that used a steering wheel will be awkward and difficult. There may be a wheel like that for the pc but I haven't seen it.

: : : So I've been thinking more about buying a steering wheel for my MAME system, although alot of people have sugested building my own, which I don't think will really work with what I'm planning on doing. If I bought a wheel I'm planning on setting it up so I can eaisly remove it when I need to, but I'm wondering if any PC steering wheel will work with MAME properly. Any thoughts?
