In Reply to: sidewinder has utility to map keystrokes to the sidewinder.. you could try that *nt* posted by Jim K. on 19, 2000 at 8:45 AM:

I had every keystroke that I needed, mapped to the buttons on the sidewinder (utilizing the M button) I could completely navigate mame32 with no problems. Start a game, stop it and pick another game, remap keys, change framerate and all.

However, mame32 was hesitating every couple of seconds (which is completely annoying). I narrowed the problem down to the sidewinder profiler and I am not the only one who has the same problem.

A fix for this would be great. But I would settle for a frontend with pc joystick support. I like dos mame better anyways. It makes a big difference in the speed of a lot of the games. Thanks!
