Ah, now I can enjoy my HotRod finally! I actually heard back from Richard at HotRod a few minutes after I posted here. So, I took it down to the HotRod shop since I live nearby and it turns out a connector was slightly bent on the microswitch and it was touching.
Okay, if I opened up the joystick myself I would've seen it but I didn't want to void the warranty. Plus, I got a tour of the facilities. Pretty cool!
