I have done exactly what you are asking about. I used the Y-Mouse from P.I. Engineering. It works great. Now I can switch back and forth between my serial spinner and trackball on the fly.

I bought mine from buy.com. They have the best price, plus I got $10 off because I was a first time buyer (go to deal-finder.com for the coupon). It ended up costing me all of $31 + shipping.

: Got a serial track ball and old ps/2 style mouse (to be made into a spinner). Since they have different connectors. I was think of wiring them to one connection (using common wires) to a ps/2 connector or serial connector. Just wonder if the two are wired together would cause conflicts or what? I know I can put them into a switch box, but hate to have a manual switch box just for playing different ways. Any feedback I can get would be helpful
