I have Time Crisis, Point Blank 1, and Elemental Gearbolt for PSX. I can confirm that you don't need a regular gamepad to play them.
I believe you can use regular (digital or analog shock) pads to play them, but I've never tried it.
Hopefully Namco will bring some of their other GunCon games to the US.
