I used a PowerMac 8100/100 for a few years, most of the classics worked at full speed. The 8100/100 and 8100/110AV were the last of the nubus PowerMacs and were pretty stable machines. Stay away from the first PCI PowerMacs, I had nothing but problems with the one I worked with.

: I know that DOS Mame requires a P100 for decent speed even for the classics, but what does MacMame require for good speed on the classics? Does MacMame support arcade monitors? I know there were some Macs that had both A/V out and rgb out, are there any with a "bug" that when you plug in the A/V it sends the wrong signal to the RGB?

: It's garage sale season, and I'd hate to pass up a decent mame system just because it's a Mac...
