Boosting monitor brightness on U3100... (+ a tip on making marquees :)

I've actually used 2 U3100's and noticed that WG does not make them all the same! The one I have in my cabinet is unusually crisp and clear, BUT not as bright as the other one I've used.

I've played with the G1 and other controls etc., but am still not satisfied. It's not bad, but I like very bright displays for games.

Is there some sort of "booster" circuitry that can be attached to a monitor or some other way to increase brightness?

Thanks if anyone can offer an ideas.

BTW - if anyone wants to make really great marquees, use Epson's panoramic photo paper on a good color inkjet - the results are STUNNING and the cost is minimal. The paper is around 23"x8" which is perfect for my cabinet. Bigger cabinets may not be satisfied, but it still beats pasting sheets together. I printed 2 so far and am in awe of the one I'm using now. "Damn I'm good!" Hehe... =P

Here's the details:

Epson Panoramic Photo Paper
S041145
8.3" x 23.4"
10 sheets (cost me $20 in CompUSA)

I used an Epson Stylus 740 at 720dpi.
