Most people who build cabinets seem to use either a real PC monitor or rig it up to use an arcade monitor. I was wondering if getting a video card with TV-out and outputting it to a TV monitor of one of those C64 monitors would be a good idea.
I have an old 20" TV laying around and that would be a better option than using my 14" pc monitor or spending more a ton of money on a 19" monitor. I've seen some TV-out cards that are pretty cheap too. Do most cards that do TV out work in pure DOS? Do I need special drivers and does a pc monitor have to be connected to the PC at all times?
