For anybody interested, I am making 2 seperate sidewinder hacks. The daisy chain 15-pin port will be mounted on the back of the box. I only have one of them completed. I found the part I needed in an old PC and I need another one, so if somebody has one, please let me know.

Description of the part:

Most joystick ports are built straight on to your sound card. The computer that I found this part in was a 486 and had a controller card with a joystick port that had a ribbon cable on it (about 1 ft. long) Anybody have one of these lying around that they can part with? I also need the mounting plate the it mounts to the slot on.

Anyhow, to hook this thing up, I took the old port off the Sidewinder board (which was a royal pain in the arse <17 solder points and I don't have a de-solderer>) and soldered all 15 wires of the ribbon cable in to the appropriate holes. Not really that hard (but time consuming) and it works great. I then smashed the mounting plate flat so all I have to do is mount it to the back of my finished box. Please help if you have one of these.

BTW, I want both of them to have the port on the back so I can use a couple of pads for 3 or 4 players. Who gets the standalones though? I guess we'll draw straws :)
