: Slightly off topic, I know, but for arcade controllers nonetheless.

: I am looking a possibly making quite a few arcade controllers for PSX and rather than use a controller hack, I was wondering if anyone had looked at mapping out and building their own circuit to emulate the job of the controller's circuitboard???

: I'd like to do it this way in an attempt to get around any legal hassles if I happen to start selling these things - I don't think many companies would appreciate me making a profit by on-selling their product, which I have modified, to then create my own product!

: Unfortunately I don't have sufficient technical knowledge to achieve this, but I suspect there may be someone out there that does....

If you're going to sell it, you can use controllers wich are not original. I don't think a company wich allready are making money on Sony product's will mind, after all you've bought their product. These are also much better to soldier on than original controllers. If you're going to sell arcadecontrollers with psx kit, I can give you a suggestion, wich I've made for myselfe. I did make an arcadecontroller, 2players and eight buttons each. Did also put eight buttons for config, and start/select or credit button. I did soldier this to a jamma. If I wanna play psx, I've a psx kit wich I connect to the jamma, If I wanna play Mame, I've got a ke72 kit, wich fits to the same jamma. If I want to play X, I make a kit X wich fit to the jamma.
If you are going to sell Arcadecontrollers this is a nice thing to do. Then you can also make money on kit to consolls in the future. Just a tip :)
