Well, I'm trying to get Mame set up perfectly before I build my sidewinder hacks, and I have run into another snag. I have decided to go with mame32 because I can have sidewinder controls running in the background and be able to use regular keystrokes through the game pads. A problem that I have been having for about a week is that mame keeps hesitating for a half a second every once in a while. I thought it might be a driver problem. So, instead of messing around with it, I decided to take an empty hard drive and install windows and all of my drivers and mame and just have a mame hard drive to boot off of when I want to do some serious memein'. Well, it did the same thing (hesitating) which made me a little upset to say the least. It turns out that the sidewinder software (3.02) was causing the problem. Anybody else experience this? I downloaded an older version but haven't tried it yet. If that doesn't work, is there another program that I can use to make the joystick emulate keystrokes in windows that can support the shift key on the sidewinder?
