Helping a friend with a monitor problem...

Hi Guys!

I have a good friend in California (I'm in N.Y.) that I'm trying to help build a cabinet (over the phone). We've basically got everything going, except for the monitor. I've built the video cable for him (he sent me pictures of the circuit board of the monitor). But there is one thing wrong: we have a split screen, both horizontally & vertically! So, basically we have a black line going down the center of the screen, and one going accross the center of the screen. We can't seem to center it, no matter what we do. Does anyone have any suggesstions?
