G’day everybody,
I'm just getting ready to buy and build my MAME cabinet. But there is one thing that is getting to me and that is the monitor, everything
else I have worked out and ready to rock with it. I’m using a RIVA TNT 16M video card on the machine. The following questions are :-

1) Most people are using 19" VGA Arcade monitors. Is this because it's easy to use the tweaks in MAME to get a full screen in all the res modes or it is cheaper? And does this size give the best clarity?

2) I want to use a 26" Arcade VGA monitor, (Out of a NG cabinet) do you get full screen with the tweaks on all the different resolutions in MAME. Plus do you get blocky graphics with the older games with the larger monitor?

3) Is it easier to turn a 19” monitor around to play then a 26” for vertical games? Or are they just both a pain?

Any suggestions on this? I'm dammed to know what to do. Also has anybody got custom tweaks in mame to run full screen in all games with the above monitors and graphics card? Or does it play whatever mame is programmed too and that's all it will show? I've tried it on a 20" PC monitor and I could not get all the games to play full screen.
BTW I use Arcade@Home front end with MAME.
Thanks

Nick
