I have the 3" happ trackball. My cabinet is 3/4" plywood. You cut the hole in the control panel the size so that the hole trackball assembly will slip through it (Kind of A large hole). So the trackball mounts to the mounting plate and the mounting plate mounts to the wood control panel. You will need 8 bolts total I think the sizes are 4-3.5" and 4-1.5" (not real sure). It would be a good idea to order these with the trackball. They are hard to find (trust me). I can't give much input on how well it works. My cabinet is not finished. If I had it all to do over, I think I might have went with the 4" ball. You must order that metal mounting plate seperate........
