Since you're just doing classics, I'd recomend getting an older version of mame, less games=more speed. I think a 486 would do good enough with the classics with an older version of Mame. With the current version of mame a P75 can't keep up easily with even the older games.

goto www.mame.net to get older versions.

: Hello,
: Thanks for the good advice so far. Keep it coming. Even just after writing my first message I think I WILL just make this cocktail into a VERTICAL MAME machine, and play the Pac-Mans, and Donkey Kong, and Space Invaders, etc. There are actually a lot of great classics that are vertical (including ALL the Pac-Man's) what I realized is that with MAME I can do something that I CAN'T do with a Multi-Pac machine, and that is play the non-standard Pac board games such as Super Pac, and Jr. Pac...COOL, I can include those too! I think I'll stick with the arcade vertical monitor and worry about the headache of it later, there seems to be a lot of good information about hooking up an arcade monitor to PC, I think I can do it. How do you POWER the arcade monitor though? Now my only question is...What's the minimum required computer needed to run most of these classics (with NO slow-down). Can I get by with a 486? What's the minimum? Of course I would'nt be touching Windows, I'll run it all in DOS, that's fine. Keep those ideas coming in! Thanks very much!
