I currently do this with a manual switchbox. My total Video run for the cab (cab to switch to cpu) is about 18 feet, without significant signal loss.

If you want to run further, you might want to have custom shielded cables made. Someone was once kind enough to post a link to a company that made these, but i haven't scrolled through the messages to find them. Essentially, they allow you to run VGA/KB/Mouse over distances up to 200 feet, but I'm sure that they're pretty pricey.

: I am just new to this.. first time on the site but I have been considering building a cabinet for awhile.. just now looking into it. I have looked at some pages and I like the idea of building your computer inside the box and everything.. but.. I dont have the money to get another computer at this time.. What I was wondering is if it would somehow be possible to use a video card with a cable connector video or some other type out and a long joystick connector type thingie so that you run the games from your comp.. but they appear and can be played on the arcade cabinet.. this would be great because then I would save some $$$ as well as have a seperate comp and stuff.. I guess I would appreciate some oppinions and stuff on how/if this could be done.. I am guessing that you would probably have to assemble the controllers and stuff in the cabinet.. then mabye have a cord running to the joystick port on your comp.. please e-mail me if U can help. Thankx..
