I just got my machine a few weeks ago...

Celeron 466, 32 MB Ram, 4 Gig HD, On board SIS 82xx video, On board soundcard.

I purchased it from a local store that builds custom computers. I asked for a 'bare bones' with some add ons that I specified. Specifically I wanted a motherboard with PCI slots so I can later disable the video/soundcard and put in better ones if needed.

So far it has been a pretty good machine. Not without problems though. First, the video card required a driver for VESA that wasn't included. Also, the first (this is my 2nd motherboard in a week) motherboard soundcard didn't work in DOS - it just made funny noises.

Framerates and speed....
I get about 70% framerate with MK. Not too impressive huh? With the sound off I get 100%. I don't know if a different video card, or sound card is the answer to more speed or not. Also, with 32M of ram, maybe I should bump that up to 64? I will just have to try some things and see what speeds it up...

: I wondered if anybody out there has attempted to use an "all in one" motherboard for a MAME box? I'm talking about something that has integrated sound and video. There are some of them that use Yamaha sound chips and ATi Video chipsets.
: If you have, would you post your experiences for all of those still stuck in "contemplation" of their machines? I am considering using such a mobo if I can find one that has ATi Video chips and a sound chipset that runs under plain DOS.
: I'm thinking K6-2 400 - 500, 128 Megs ram on a 250 watt AT power supply with a "24x" or slower CD Rom. I want to use ArcadeOS and Plain DOS 6.x...any comments are welcome. Sorry for the long post -
