i have a set up like you described currently running. luckily my arcade machine is situated directly next to my computer so cables don't have to be too long. i have the joysticks and buttons wired to a powerramp mite(programmable gamepad that plugs into ps2 port). This then runs to my ps2 keyboard port. the powerramp has a connector to hook up your keyboard to the same port. for a monitor i have a wg u3100. i purchased a vga splitter cable and so both monitors run to my video card. for sound i was lucky because i have a diamond monster mx300. these are for 4 point surround speakers so i just hook one set of speakers for use with the regular pc setup and the other pair are in my cab. the pair in the cab have their own subwoofer and volume control so i can easily power them off or turn the volume off when i don't want noise comming from the cab but i am using the computer. same situation with the monitors. both are plugged in, i just turn on the one that i want to use. this sytem works out well for me and i didn't have to shell out big bucks for a second system. also when i do upgrade both my computer and my cab will be upgraded at the same time ;-). i was looking into this thing called buddy. it allows you to essentially run 2 computers of one computer by adding a monitor and keyboard. it costs a little under $200. the only downfall is that the second user has no sound. so i decided to stick with my sharing setup. i hope this helps. post to this board if you need more help.
