I'm with Chris on this one, too. I have a 21" monitor, speakers, and a Celeron 433 in a case installed in my machine with no extra ventiliation that what was provided w/ the cabinet, which is no more than a couple slits on the top and the fan hole in the back.

If you are going to go with a fan, I would not recommend the $20 fan available from Happ. Although it does a damn good job cooling (It pushes more air than a blow dryer) and is of high quality, it sounds like a jet engine. It is simply too loud for a home-use cabinet.

: Not a newcomer to the site, but this is the first post I've made:

: I'm getting ready to start design of a cabinet (didn't want to drop the money on a monitor but Lusid's posts have swayed me towards a nice TV) and I was wondering if anybody had any suggestions about venting your cabinet, especially for computers with faster chips. Do you even use a computer case? Leave the back open? Vent slits in the side? I'm really curious about people that have been running a cab for a while with a fast processor and how it has held up to the heat.

: Thanks,
: Shawn
