I went to my local supplier of Arcade games, and sure enough, they had a huge boneyard of old and/or dead games in various states of decrepitude. I probably could have gotten one cheaper elsewhere (it cost me $200 CDN), but I got them to show me that the monitor worked, and to chuck in a different Marquee and a bunch of extra buttons and overlays. (They had buckets full of old buttons and such).

If you want to determine who these suppliers in your area might be, go to an arcade and look at the games (suppliers/distributors often have their stickers on the game), or look in the Yellow pages under amusements. BTW- I ended up with a Tetris Cab that was a converted Phoenix, and my Marquee is a Q*Bert. (Talk about an identity crisis).

The guys I dealt with were a little hostile to the notion of one-off collectors and gamers, but if you know what you want and don't waste too much time gawking at every cab, they ought to accomodate you. (After all, you're putting a few bucks in their jeans from something that was likely just taking up space).

With regard to your dual-gamepad hack- Be mindful of the fact that there are keyboard-specific buttons you might want access to. While AOS does a much better job of allowing remapping these days, I'm not sure that it can accomodate everything you might want without an encoder/keyboard hack. If you're gonna end up hacking a KB anyways, you might want to save yourself the effort (and expense) of hacking a second Gamepad.

: Ok, I'm new to all of this but I'm really considering building my own emulator arcade cabinet. I've dona a LOT of reading and I've concluded that I want to use a gamepad interface. I know that Gravis makes a controller (and so do others) that lets you hook in another controller to it. The gamepad pro. It's a 10-button controller in all, counting start and select. Now could I configure a control panel with two players, one to each gamepad???? I should be able to do this. They say that both gamepads will be 100% functional. Also, what is a good place to look for used cabinets cheap? Thanks!
