Oky. I have built a test controller just ofr playing ms pac & I had a test setup built in a cardboard box to test button layout. Meanwhile understandably one of the wires came unsoldered from the board (after all Im not a soldering expert) while a friend was playing with it. If it was just crimped onto the encoder I could have just given it a quick crimp with the pliers in my desk or even my teeth & just pushed it back onto the encoders metal peg thingy. Instead it was soldred. It was out of the question fixing it at the time cus it would have requres me to go down, get the gun, find the solder, bring it all up, reach all the way back into an arcane position to get to a socket, then wait for the gun to heat, solder the one connection possibly burning myself, and then id have to hookd hte board back up cus its hard to solder with it still hooked. In the process I would have had to unhook all the inputs. My current stick has only 8 inputs, my future one would have 50 & that could take quite a while.

Im sure alot of you peeps are very good with the gun but I suck & my fingers are not the most steady in the world.
