If you just want a plain colored bezel, all you need to do is spray paint the inside of the bezel (remember to mask your screen view size). I just did this with plexiglass. It came with a plastic protective coating so I just lightly scored it to the screen size and removed the outer edge). Then I sprayed matte black paint on it. It came out perfectly (I will have pics up soon). Even though I used black matte paint, it still looked shiny on the outside.

If you plan to paint characters, logos, etc. on the bezel, sign paint or enamels work pretty well. However, it's somewhat costly if you have to by all the colors. I'd probably just scan, print (on photo paper), cut and paste your designs. Then you can temporarily adhere them to the inside of the glass/plexiglass and use them as masks to paint black (or whatever color) on top of them.
