Ok, so how does this work?
With the ke24 can you hook up the serial port, then program the encoder, then disconnect the serial cable and connect a different device to the port like a mouse or trackball? Does the encoder remain programmed after you remove it from the serial port, and if so, how? Some kind of flash rom or something? There isn't a battery on the encoder as far as I can tell.
