There is a glow in the neck of the monitor and
you can hear that "crackle" type of sound
when the cabinet gets turned on, so there must
be electricity going to the monitor. I did notice,
if it matters, when I turn the monitor off,
a red "outline" kind of box shrinks faintly to
nothing(in the middle of the screen). The whole
thing lasts about 2 seconds. Kind of like those
older televisions when you turned them off, it
goes to a white dot or square in the middle of the
screen then fades to nothing. I checked the
little board that has the black level, contrast,
vertical hold, and so on. I turned all of these
every which way, but it did nothing. How do you know if the monitor is dead? Thanks for the suggestions. Any more would help.
