how to make a dual platform (PSX+DRC) stick

Hello,
I was curious as to how to make a controller that was
compatible with both PSX and Dreamcast. Can i just wire
The buttons on the arcade stick directly to the boards
from a PSX and DRC controller, or do i need to incorporate
Some sort of switchbox. If I do need a switch, what kind
and where to get it? Thanks for any info!
